EDARCH has conducted a survey which revealed that most of the organisations working for disabled persons either give them standard education or train them in specific trades like chair caning, candle making etc. The education and training depends on the category of disabled persons i.e. blind, mentally retarded, deaf etc.
These organisations upgrade their standard and then leave them in the society to their fate for service or self employment.
The disabled persons complete their education or training by the age of 18 yrs and when they are grown up and gain confidence due to education and training find that their future is in dark, as almost nobody willingly accepts them for the job due to their lacunae and very few organisations work for their actual rehabilitation in the service.
EDARCH has developed a new scheme of Entrepreneurship Development And Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons for those over the age of 18 yrs.
EDARCH believes that nobody in the commercial world accepts willingly or honours the disabled persons at par with normal persons unless they give work output or results like normal persons. This is possible only when different categories of disabled persons are trained to work cohesively together and in synchronisation with each other to give work output as a group and not as an individual.
On the above concept EDARCH has started a vocational training centre in the city of Pune-Maharashtra (India) where we form various groups, each of 8-10 disabled persons which include two of each category i.e. Mentally Retarded, Blind, Orthopaedically Handicapped & Deaf and render them vocational training in the production of components like H.D.P. caps for industrial purpose, diesel engine components like V.R. lever assembly, vehicular stephanie covers, formatting of car door plastic components etc.
While imparting training help of technocrats from tie-up industry is taken for teaching the production process. Each category is trained with the help of trained teachers in only those functions which are assigned to that category and the complete job is prepared with the help of all categories together.
Time period for training for any entrepreneurial group or for any product is uncertain and varies between 1 yr to 2 yrs.
During training, EDARCH provides all facilities for production, technical guidance, close supervision for safe working, special technical aid, medical aid and any other help to the group as required to achieve quality and optimum rate of production.
In our Vocational Training Centre at Pune, Maharashtra (India), Initially it took a long time to synchronise the activities of disabled persons in the group and also to teach specific functions of production to each category depending upon the disability but once the group started working cohesively, each disabled person of the group got a feeling of creation and job satisfaction.
At our vocational training centre we observed that after completion of training i.e. once the entrepreneurial group achieves quality in production and the rate of production is regularised each disabled person of the group
1. Works with full integrity and sincerity.
2. Enjoys the production activity along with others in the group.
3. Develops self confidence and job satisfaction.
4. Develops sympathy towards other disabled persons in the group and sets aside his
lacunae.
5. The group works cohesively resulting in good quality production, at times better than normal persons.
6. Rate of production also increases once each one of the group achieves perfection, as these disabled
persons are not prone to any mental distraction during production.
7. A bond of affiliation and family atmosphere is generated among all categories of disabled persons in the
group.
EDARCH has supplied more than 15000 V.R. Lever assemblies to Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited Pune and in spite of stringent quality inspection none has been rejected, so is the case with other products also. These companies had their own doubts about the success of our scheme but now have appreciated the efforts and success of the rehabilitation scheme of EDARCH by giving their appreciation letters.

Now the companies are coming forward to offer their products / components to EDARCH. Some of the products the companies have offered to us are engine oil filters, air cleaners, electric irons, tube light strips, umbrellas, four wheeler and two wheeler head lamp wire harness assembly ,bicycle rims, scooter seat assembly, injection moulded components etc.
On receipt of NATIONAL AWARD to our scheme of rehabilitation we registered almost 400 disabled persons of different categories and are now in the process of forming their entrepreneurial groups to impart them vocational training, after the facilities like land, premises and infrastructure are made available.
